What is Hypnosis?
The trance state is quite common with each of us falling in and out of trance manty times a day, sometimes when we are while driving, watching TV, or reading. It’s merely a state of deep focus . Throughout the session, you’ll remain conscious, allowing the words to flow over you effortlessly. You’ll feel pleasantly relaxed yet fully in control. Each individual experiences it uniquely, with no strict guidelines on how to approach it. Many describe it as a delightful and soothing experience.
If I’m hypnotised to do I give up control?
Absolutely not, you are in control the whole time.
How does hypnosis feel?
It is a total state of relaxation similar to meditation. Some people say they feel heavy, and some say they feel floaty. We get you nice and relaxed and let your mind so down , it’s an enjoyable feeling of being calm and relaxed but still fully in control.
How Many Hypnotherapy Sessions Will I Need?
The number of sessions will vary for each person, depending on the symptoms they have. You are always free to decide how many sessions you need, and if you feel ready to stop hypnotherapy, I will support you. If you later find out that you need one or two more sessions, I will be glad to help. For reference, simple phobias usually take 3 -4 hypnotherapy sessions, while complex phobias, depression, anxiety or IBS usually take more. The stop smoking session is one session & it lasts up to 2 hours.
It is ideal to begin sessions once a week, and then gradually reduce the frequency as you gain more confidence.
What if I can’t make my appointment?
If you need to cancel or re-arrange a session please give as much notice as possible (ideally 24 hours) so that I am able to give your appointment slot to someone else.
What about working with children?
I work with children and young people and will need a parental form signed prior to an appointment. A parent, carer or guardian will need to accompany the young person to the appointment or be present over the online platform. Chaperones are also welcome.
